I want to participate. What do I do?
- START READING! Start with the Book List then view book trailers to decide which books look like good matches for your reading interests.
- After completing a book, record your opinion about the book at the Student Reading Log page. Be sure to fill in all of the required information. This is how Ms. Yosca will know you completed a reading a book.
- Read another book! Record it! Keep reading and recording until March 2017! Once you have read FIVE BOOKS you are eligible to vote. Reading NINE BOOKS or more will earn you a prize.
- Ms. Yosca will help you keep track of your progress with a copy of this sheet, stored in the MCBA folder by class sections.
- Have fun, challenge yourself, and talk to your friends and family about our reading participation in the award.

What won last year? The children of Massachusetts voted The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate the 2016 MCBA winner. The honor books were:
- The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer
- Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy by Tui Sutherland
- Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library by Chris Grabenstein
- The School of Good and Evil by S. Chainani.
Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library by Chris Grabenstein was voted the winner by the students SSDS.
